News from the Quilt Cupboard and Membership:

The Quilt Cupboard has been meeting at the Groton Senior Center in a lovely workspace. Typical meetings are on the fourth Friday of the month. I hope many of you can join us for a day of quilting for the Cupboard. There are many kits you can work on or bring your own project for the Cupboard. Please bring your machines and lunch and enjoy a day with quilting friends. Quilt and baby blanket kits will be available for you to take to work on at our business meetings, open sews and quilt cupboard workshops every month. We will also be accepting donations for the Quilt Cupboard at each of these monthly events.

The Quilt Cupboard is interested in expanding the distribution of finished quilts. They are asking if you could think about sites like shelters for battered women and children, or other agencies that we could make regular donations of quilts to those who may need them. It would be helpful to come up with a list of places we would like to make regular donations to, so that we could get more involved in the wider community and spread the joy of receiving a new quilt. More to come on this, but first, please email with ideas of agencies in our geographic area that are potential sites for us to contact. Identifying an agency does not mean you need to be the liaison for that agency.

Thanks to everyone that contributes to this wonderful cause.

In person open sews are on the third Tuesday of the month at the Pepperell Community Center from 10:00 to 3:30. Ann Wilbur is the contact person. If you have any questions, just give her a call. It is a great place to get some sewing done and to chit-chat and laugh with sewing friends. Zoom open sews: While many venues are opening up and more of us are able to gather is person there are some who would like to continue the Zoom Open Sews. Nancy Russell will be hosting these. Advantages: no travel time, bad weather doesn’t interfere, ALL your supplies are at hand, sharing ideas and projects, and most of all, spending time with quilt friends. If you think you’d be interested in joining the sessions send Nancy an email.
